A Guide to deposit cell line and DNA samples in the GGB
Access to cell line and DNA deposit
- As a contributors, you may limit the distribution of your cell lines and DNA samples. In case of limitation we shall request your confirmation before any transfer of the contributed sample.
- Personal details of cell lines and DNA source will remain confidential.
- The contributed sample are used for research purpose only.
- The contributor has to send a copy of the consent obtained from the patient or their parents from whom the cells were originally obtained.
- The contributor will be acknowledged in a GGB list of depositors addresses and contact name.
Procedure for sample deposition
- GGB can accept frozen vials, growing cultures, tissue samples, and blood samples for DNA extraction and EBV transformation lymphocytes.
- Complete the appropriate GGB deposit form. Is essential for GGB to receive copies of deposit form in advance of deposit particurarly to allow time for preparation of unusual media requirements.
- At least 4 vials shall be prepared from each contributed cell lines.
Shipping instructions
- Please inform GGB at least 48h prior to despatch.
- Send shipments early in the week (usually Mondays and Tuesdays) to ensure arrival before the following weekend.
- The depositor is entirely responsible for the charges incurred in the trasportation of deposits to GGB.
